Waiver Services for Children
Fueling dreams for future generations.
Because every child deserves the best start.
Frontier has been providing services for children with developmental disabilities since our founding over four decades ago.
We support independence and empower people to become self-advocates.
Because we believe people are healthier and happier living in their own homes and communities, we offer wrap-around services and advocate for the right of individuals with disabilities of all ages to make their own choices about where they live.
Our goal is to empower people to live their best life by getting rid of barriers and offering access to all the services they need through all of life’s journeys.
Services
In-Home Supported Living
We’ll come to your home to help your child develop everyday living skills to empower their independence. We help them move through routines such as dressing, meal preparation, daily chores, and even homework projects.
Day Habilitation & Socialization
We love getting you out of the house and in the community for a variety of social activities based on goals in your child's plan and the things they enjoy most. Our staff helps to facilitate interaction and teaches social skills.
Respite Care for Caregivers
Primary caregivers work hard and deserve time for self care. That’s where we come in to help. We’ll take care of your little ones while you take care of errands or use the time to rest.
Nursing Oversight
Our onsite nurse can help navigate questions about medical care, facilitate referrals to medical providers, serve as an advocate in medical appointments, and get needed equipment and supplies – all with a professional lens.
We provide services through Alaska’s Medicaid Waiver Program.
Individuals must meet Medicaid eligibility and Level of Care as Determined by the State of Alaska.
Events Calendar
Join us! We host playgroups in September through March and offer other free activities.
You’ll find us out in your community educating parents about stages of healthy development and promoting awareness, understanding and inclusion.
Frontier leads in community outreach and connection.
Our dream is to build an inclusive community where children of all ability levels are given space to flourish through interacting with their peers, engaging in developmentally supportive activities and having new experiences.
Helping individuals we support stay independent in their own homes
and cultivate connection in the community.
We embody Alaska’s Shared Vision and work tirelessly to make it a reality.
Alaskans share a vision of a flexible system in which each person directs their own supports, based on their strengths and abilities, toward a meaningful life in their home, their job and their community. Our vision includes supported families, professional staff and services available throughout the state now and into the future.
